Scrapbook Summer 2013-February 2014

Today is my day off, so I am finally catching up on some scrapbooking. Now I didn't get all of these done today just 3 and tweaked 2, but I am happy to finally have something to post, maybe looking at these will motivate me to finish out 2013 {this is pretty hit and miss} and get through this summer fun.  I am slowly getting caught back up again. I swear to myself every time I get "caught" up to stay that way, but something always seems to pop up like facebook. HA! To keep me from doing it. :)

 Here are the pages from the end of the year for our Family Scrapbook. The beauty of digi scrapping is I can print these pages 3x and get them in everybody's books. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. :)

I have SO many pictures from Christmas and all we did leading up to it. A good scrapbooker probably would have taken the time to scrap each "event." Me not so much. I love collages and just "threw" them all in one big Christmas Tradition Page

Santa!!

Christmas Eve--where I sucked it up big time, and left our camera at my MIL!!! Grrrr... And had to use our video camera to take pictures. Better than nothing? Maybe. ;)
A friend of mine, who rocks at photography, told me black and white is more forgiving of crappy pictures, so we shall see how this comes back from the printers...

Family Christmas Festivities. Haven't decided about this page yet...something different that is for sure.

Daddy's 30th Birthday. Dec 2010

Year in Review of Lo and MW. There were just too many adorable photos of them together to do just one brother and sister page, so once again the collage effect won out! Another perk of digi scrapping is I made Lo's page more girly for her and with a few clicks of the keyboard I popped in more boyish papers for Micah and viola in 3 extra minutes two pages.

I just love these two together, more than I ever thought I would. I know that sounds weird, but I just didn't know how the whole bro/sis thing would be. And boy do they love each other. I hope they will always be friends.

I still have a few pages from fall to catch up on and then I can finally start on 2012! I know you are all just thrilled for me. Thank you. ;)

Surprise! I am not sending out Christmas cards again this year. I love all of yours, but think the green version is the way to go. {more green in my pocket and it's good for Mother Earth too!}

Leighton's Scrapbook pt 6

Here is what we have been up to via scrapbooking pages this Winter and Christmas!

I am getting uber excited to order these pages {I order everything I have around her birthday each year, once again to stay current and cut down on cost} and put them in her book! I probably look through her baby-first year scrapbook every few days. I just love reminiscing on how she has changed.

So enjoy! :)


Another one of my all time favorite pages. That is the little doll I had growing up and it just makes my heart happy that she is so in love with her too! She takes such good care of her, currently no other doll she has {which is a lot} compares to "yellow baby." We even have another one that my mom bid on and won off ebay waiting in the wings when this one takes her last "breathe." I will love knowing that my baby doll "died" in love and no two people could have loved that doll more!

Some FAQ I have gotten on this:
(if you have any questions I didn't cover just leave a comment)1. How did you do this?
I did all of this on Photoshop Elements. It is nothing too fancy, just basic, but it gets the job done. I am NO PRO by any stretch of the imagination and still have lots to learn. However, I am pretty please with how it turned out for a first time digital scrapbooker.


2. How did you print them off?
I asked a lot of my photoshop pro and design friends for suggestions and decided to go with Scrapbooksplease. The did my 12x12 pages for $1.99 each.


3. How was the quality?
I was overall impressed with the quality. I did a matte paper b/c I don't like glossy, but I am re-thinking that now.
4. Would you use this company again?
Yes, and no. The price is right, but I did think the shipping was a little high $14 for 50 pages. There is another company called Scrapping Simply that ships for a flat $5 (or so it appears) that I may try next time. If one of you uses them please let me know what you think!

5. Is digital scrapbooking easier than regular scrapbooking?
A resounding YES, in my opinion. I have "tried" my hand at the old-fashion way, but it is time consuming, creates a mess, and expensive. The old-fashion way does yield really cool 3-D pages, but I think digital gives you more bang for your buck, once you get over the headache that is photoshop!


6. Do I have to have photoshop to do this?
No, there are lots of free sites out there to use. Sorry I can't think of any to link you to, but google is your friend use it! :) However, basic photoshop elements runs around $100, so it could be a worthy investment. But you might want to pick up the Photoshop for dummies book while you are at it! (Thanks Erin for the tip :) ).
