Baby Q's Scrapbook

So a LONG time ago I promised Baby Q's scrapbook. I know you all have just been dying to see it. HA!
Well, your wait is over. ;) I am back at scrapbooking again, trying desperately to stay as "caught up" as I can. And his is as "caught up" as it can be at this point, you know until he arrives...

I blacked out his name, for those of you sneaky ones out there...

Leighton's Second Year Scrapbook Pt. 4

Here are my latest (as in now I am behind again) pages in Lo's 2nd year scrapbook. I also am trying to get a "family" scrapbook going, but we (ie Chad and I) are not nearly as scrap worthy as our darling daughter and soon to be son! :)

Because I have to give credit where credit is due, the pictures in the "In My Daughter's Eyes" page were taken by the lovely Ginger Skillen Photography! She is so awesome and I can't wait for her to take our NEW family pictures in late January/early February when our son arrives!! (You know along with newborn and 2 year old pics too! :) ).

I love digi scrapbooking! It becomes quite addicting for me at times. Some of the best part of digi scrapbooking is hunting for all the free downloads. Right Erin?! :) I have paid zero for every element, paper, font, and lettering I use! It is awesome. And sometimes you find really awesome quick pages like this one below and you can do an entire page in 5 minutes verse the 45min OR 2 days that it usually takes me! HA!

FAMILY Scrapbook!

I even have Baby Q's up-to-date, but I will save those for a rainy day. :)

Leighton's 2nd Year Scrapbook pt.3

For your enjoyment, or mine ;) Here is the latest installment of Lo's 2nd year scrapbook. I really find this addicting and love it more than I ever thought I would. They got a bit out of order because that is how I roll, you have to go with the creative juices that strike. :) I am really amazed at how much she has changed in just the last 6 months!

To see or remember part one click HERE and/or part two click HERE.
Also if you would like to read the journaling, please click on the picture to enlarge it...in case you already didn't know that. :)

Note: That my good friend Ginger took these beautiful ONE year photos.
These first two pages actually conclude her ONE year album, but I had to include them. :)
This is suppose to be a side by side two page layout...not sure why I just said that. :)

Leighton's Second Year Scrapbook pt 1

I am very proud to say that I have been keeping up with Leighton's scrapbook. I have been having fun with a lot of "new" stuff I downloaded (thanks Erin!). Here is a little preview of what I have been working on:

Please note that the ONE YEAR picture featured on this page was taken by my friend Ginger. She did an amazing job taking Lo's ONE year photos.

Leighton's First Year Scrapbook (pt3)

All 50 pages on my shutterfly account HERE.

This is the final installment aren't you all excited! ;)

Some FAQ I have gotten on this:
(if you have any questions I didn't cover just leave a comment)1. How did you do this?
I did all of this on Photoshop Elements. It is nothing too fancy, just basic, but it gets the job done. I am NO PRO by any stretch of the imagination and still have lots to learn. However, I am pretty please with how it turned out for a first time digital scrapbooker.

2. How did you print them off?
I asked a lot of my photoshop pro and design friends for suggestions and decided to go with Scrapbooksplease. The did my 12x12 pages for $1.99 each.

3. How was the quality?
I was overall impressed with the quality. I did a matte paper b/c I don't like glossy, but I am re-thinking that now.
4. Would you use this company again?
Yes, and no. The price is right, but I did think the shipping was a little high $14 for 50 pages. There is another company called Scrapping Simply that ships for a flat $5 (or so it appears) that I may try next time. If one of you uses them please let me know what you think!

5. Is digital scrapbooking easier than regular scrapbooking?
A resounding YES, in my opinion. I have "tried" my hand at the old-fashion way, but it is time consuming, creates a mess, and expensive. The old-fashion way does yield really cool 3-D pages, but I think digital gives you more bang for your buck, once you get over the headache that is photoshop!

6. Do I have to have photoshop to do this?
No, there are lots of free sites out there to use. Sorry I can't think of any to link you to, but google is your friend use it! :) However, basic photoshop elements runs around $100, so it could be a worthy investment. But you might want to pick up the Photoshop for dummies book while you are at it! (Thanks Erin for the tip :) ).

Happy Saturday!

Leighton's First Scrapbook (pt2)

Here are a few sample pages from her scrapbook.
2months-5months

And they are for sure uploaded to my shutterfly site now...sorry that took longer than I thought...shocking, I know.

I am excited that the printed pages will be here soon! I love being able to thumb through albums rather than just scroll through pics online!
